The Children’s Libraries at the Ouro Preto and Mariana Stations promote education, teaching, and learning on the theme of “Heritage Education”. To make these actions possible, the Libraries encourage the use of their spaces and collections by the community through integrated activities such as reading, workshops, storytelling, literary parties, thematic exhibitions, guided tours, and holiday workshops, among others.

The Libraries’ collections consist of books and reference works, as well as special materials like DVDs and CD-ROMs, which address topics such as literature and heritage education. Residents of both cities can borrow material from the library by signing up as a Library user.

The Libraries also offer free internet access and movies on weekends for the whole family.

Recent additions are the periodicals: newspapers, magazines, and comic books, which are available for reading during normal library hours.

Stay tuned to the Children’s Libraries’ activities calendar and take advantage of this fun-filled cultural space provided by the Trem da Vale Heritage Educational Program!
