Nefasto Grupo performs at the Cultural Tent of Ouro Preto Station

Tuesday April 7th, 2009

Tenda Cultural

In this month of April, the feature in the Cultural Tent of Ouro Preto Station will be a free adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Othello, inspired by the postmodern scenario and presented by Nefasto Grupo.

In the play, a family of decadent artists meets an influential military man, Othello, who promises to help them recovering their days of glory. Being in love with the charming family heiress, Othello faces the crueler jealous feelings manipulated and disguised under a clown’s mask.

Directed by Danilo Camassuti, the play intensifies the relationship between both comic and tragic universes found in the story, as well as the understanding of such impactive play by the audience.

Tickets will be available as of April 14, at Ouro Preto Station, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to be exchanged for one (1) kg of non-perishable food. All of the gathered food will be destined to a non-profit institution in the city.

Exhibitions will take place on April 16 through 18, at 8 p.m. The show is not recommended for kids under 10.
