Barrel organ animates the departure of Trem da Vale

Friday January 9th, 2009

Starting on Friday, January 9th, visitors to Trem da Vale will be presented with a cheerful novelty while waiting to board the train. Actors and interpretive dolls from Companhia Navegante - Teatro de Marionetes will enliven the departure and arrival platforms of both Mariana and Ouro Preto train stations, carrying a barrel organ, which is a boxful of hidden surprises in its drawers. The interpretive dolls are characters made up in accordance with a railway context.

While passengers are awaiting departure, two actors will receive them and lead them through the station’s interactive spaces, in addition to providing information about heritage education and the project’s various activities. Surprise messages and folders about the project are distributed by means of the barrel organ.

The artistic interactions with the public are coordinated by the director of Companhia Navegante, Catín Nardi, and are performed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10: 30 am to 4 pm.
