Acting as the executor of the initiative, the mission of Fundação Vale (Vale Foundation) is to contribute to the integrated (economic, environmental, and social) development within the locations where Vale operates, strengthening human capital in the communities and respecting local cultural identities.

Social Agent

Fundação Vale works on the development of the communities where it operates, contributing to strengthen the people and respecting local cultural identities. This enforcement of this policy is only possible by deeply understanding the reality of each municipality and region, its people, and their social relationships. Therefore, in-depth studies are conducted on the locations where Vale operates and, as precise diagnoses, they help to guide long term jobs, implemented in partnership with the government and community.

As a third sector institution, we aim at the improvement of peoples’ quality of life, orienting our work and programs toward human and economic development, according to the results of produced diagnoses. That is one of the reasons for the implementation of the Knowledge Stations - Human and Economic Development Centers - reference centers in which our work is focused on professionalizing activities, sports, and culture for local children and youth.

Furthermore, in partnership with other non-governmental institutions, the government, and private enterprise, we have developed structured social programs that contribute to enhance the quality of life in the communities where we operate.
