A new timetable for trips on Trem da Vale will be effective as of February, 13th. In order to meet the demand of both locals and visitors, two trips will be scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. Departures will be scheduled from Ouro Preto, at 10 A.M., and from Mariana, at 2 P.M..
Thus, visitors leaving Ouro Preto towards Mariana will be able to enjoy a longer visit and seize the opportunity to get acquainted with the project’s station as well as to visit Mariana’s major tourist attractions.
During carnival days, additional timetables will be made available in order to handle the flow of visitors to Ouro Preto and Mariana. In addition to the official schedule, on February 21st and 22nd, Saturday and Sunday respectively, the Maria Fumaça train will offer two extra trips, one departing from Mariana at 8:30 A.M. and the other one departing from Ouro Preto at 4:30 P.M.. On February 23rd and 24th, Monday and Tuesday respectively, a single extra trip will be scheduled to depart from Ouro Preto at 4 P.M.
